About A&K Cooperage

Established in 1972

Higbee, Missouri

Located in Higbee, Missouri, A&K Cooperage has produced American oak barrels for the wine and spirits industry since 1972. A&K's signature 59-gallon American white oak wine barrels are sourced from prime Northern Missouri timberland, toasted over an oak fire and air-dried for 24 to 36 months. Silver Oak, known for its Cabernet Sauvignon aged exclusively in American oak barrels, purchased a 50 percent share in A&K in 2000. Subsequently, Silver Oak and A&K jointly acquired several hundred acres of Missouri oak timberland to ensure a consistent and sustainably-grown lumber supply for future use.
